Parking Garage?

The following is a series of design material for a parking garage for a comprehensive design studio. Without describing all of the context for the project and the site, I wanted to be diligent in posting the working material as we struggle, in an attempt to present the design stages of our project.

The parking garage, as a building typology, is all too often perceived as utilitarian or empty of architecture. It’s purpose, as opposed to a house, church, school, etc. is to hold vehicles while people are not driving them. The challenge of this typology, in the framework of the design studio, is to embed the functionality of the garage with social and engaging programs.
